  • API Tokens are valid across networks. The hit-rates for token usage are counted seperately for mainnet and testnets(the rates are combined across preview/preprod usage).
  • Even unlimited daily requests in custom tiers are subject to the limitations of hardware resources, addressed by horizontal scaling.

Networks

Koios supports three networks for blockchain transactions and development on Cardano: Mainnet, Preprod (testnet similar to mainnet) and Preview (test upcoming features). The Mainnet is where real-world, live transactions take place, while the other networks help out for testing and development.

Tiers rate limits

Koios API service offers several tiered options to suit your specific requirements, each with different rate limits. These tiers are designed to provide the ideal combination of access and resources for your application's needs.

  • Public Tier — no-cost access to API services, no API keys or subscription expiry required. 5,000 requests per day.
  • Free Tier — requires registration, higher daily request limit of 50,000 requests per day.
  • Pro Tier — daily rate limit of 500,000 requests, registration required, monthly fee of ~$29.99 USD.
  • Premium Tier — daily request cap of 1.2 million, registration required, monthly fee of ~$74.99 USD.
  • Custom Tier — tailor-made infrastructure, limitless requests per day, contact us for pricing.
